From this point of view, chaos theory, knowledge management becomes a real character multidisplinar. Agustí Canals in papers published in Quo vadis, KM? Complexity as a new paradigm for shows that management of knowledge in its interdisciplinary character makes it possible to integrate many of the different approaches currently living, which incorporates the developments made from several points of view.

Furthermore, this author in this publication, noted in relation to chaos theory: “Organizations, like any social system in general, are complex systems. Therefore, more and more in business studies are using complexity theory as a conceptual framework in many areas. This possibility becomes especially interesting in the study of knowledge management. Clearly, in the creation, transmission and utilization of knowledge involved individual and organizational processes in a high degree of complexity. Organizational knowledge itself can be considered, in fact, an emerging phenomenon that is more than the sum of knowledge of the individuals who comprise the organization. We move, therefore, in an area in which the concepts of complexity can be particularly useful. Complexity theory, therefore, may constitute the basic element that can build a stronger conceptual foundations for knowledge management. On the one hand, its interdisciplinary character makes it possible to integrate many of the different approaches that coexist currently, which incorporates the developments made from several points of view. On the other hand, it opens the way for use in knowledge management research methodologies based innovative use of existing technological capabilities, such as simulation models are already used in the study of complex systems in other disciplines . No doubt the theory of complexity is a strong candidate to be the paradigm from which to develop the emerging discipline of knowledge management within business studies.
